Abstract.
The paper presents the design of a distributed system for trouble management (TM) in telecommunication networks, based on standardized documentation and with a technology dependent approach for implementation. The initial stage in implementation is a simulator application in Java to demonstrate the functionality of this system. It represents the starting point for two next approaches. The former is based on an integration distributed management platform HP-OpenView DM, mixing the advantages of Java technology with the platform specific technology, while the latter is a complete Java approach, providing a platform independent extended client-server architecture with a specific functionality.
