Amorphous Aromatic Polyimides as Potential Piezoelectric Materials for High Performance Application

Abstract.
A review is presented on piezoelectric properties of amorphous aromatic polyimides having polar functional groups in relation to their chemical structure. Synthesis methods of such aromatic polyimides are discussed and their characteristics are compared with other piezoelectric polymers.
