Abstract.
It is strongly believed that the advances of the new economy and especially the proliferation of the web-based companies will soon be a reality in Eastern European countries. In this paper, we examine the optimal design of an e-commerce web-site tailored to the actual needs of the customers. The analysis is based on a survey of the state-of-the-art and of the needs typical for eastern European economies. The Quality Function Deployment method is used in order to assess the importance of the specifications and to provide reliable advice for web-site design.
