A New Basic Approach to the Response of Networks to Periodic Inputs

Abstract.
Our paper provides some basic results concerning the asymptotic periodic response of ALTIS (analog linear time invariant systems) to periodic inputs. The main results is contained in Theorem 4 and reproduces in the space of periodic inputs and outputs the classic result according to which the output can be expressed as the convolution between the input and the weighting function of the system. Here, the response is expressed as the circular convolution between the restriction of the periodic weigting function and the restriction of the input signal. To apply this result, one must make a Fourier synthesis, by the use of the samples of the usual weighting function. For lumped parameter ALTIS, we gave a general form of the response by introducing a new class of polynomials. Finally, an example of calculation is presented.
